From here to there

The Sierra Seven Arts Alliance is a newly formed collaborative network serving the Central and Eastern Sierra region of California.

The project, spearheaded by the C5 Studios Community Arts Center (a subsidiary of Bishop Mural Society), intends to bolster the capacity of State Local Partners (SLP) in the region to promote the arts ecosystem and shine the spotlight on this fact: the Eastern and Central Sierras are not just for outdoor recreation, but they are also havens for all types of arts, culture, and creative expression.

The following arts services organizations are members of the Sierra Seven: Arts and Culture Alpine County (SLP), Amador County Arts Council (SLP), C5 Studios Community Arts Center, Inyo Council for the Arts (SLP), Mariposa County Arts Council (SLP), Mono Arts Council (SLP), and the Tuolumne County Arts Alliance (SLP).

The inaugural collaborative project undertaken by the alliance will connect the seven counties of the Sierra region through a unique touring art exhibition, which will travel to locations in each of the participating counties.

In fall 2025, Sierra 7 invited submissions for a traveling exhibit “From Here to There”—featuring the artwork of 35 artists from Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Inyo, Mariposa, and Tuolumne Counties.

The arts have the power to reveal and celebrate the connections that weave through the Central and Eastern Sierra: our grand landscapes, unique bioregions, diverse communities, small and intimate perspectives, and future aspirations. Artists play a vital role in illuminating these connections, large and small, tangible and intangible. Through your creative work, you help tell the stories that define this place and deepen the relationship and reverence for our home.

This regional traveling exhibition, presented by the Sierra Seven Arts Alliance, is designed to highlight the breadth and depth of artistic voices across our seven counties. By participating, artists will not only share their work with audiences throughout the region but also contribute to building a stronger, more connected cultural landscape for the Sierras.

More than 150 pieces of art were submitted for consideration for this exhibit. A panel of peers from across the region adjudicated the submissions, and 35 pieces were chosen to be showcased.

Congratulations to the artists who will be showcased!

The featured artists who are from Amador and Calaveras Counties are:
