New Amador Sewing Circle Starts April 14

Jackson, California – Amador County Arts Council presents the Amador Sewing Circle, with two meetings per month at 617 South CA-49 in the Mother Lode Plaza in Jackson. The Amador Sewing Circle will have its opening meeting on April 14th from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Whether you are an experienced seamstress, or want to learn how to sew, you are invited to join the FREE Amador Sewing Circle. This new group will be a place where you can share your knowledge and learn new things. Do you need a second hand with marking the hem or fitting? Are you interested in learning how to sew clothes, but don’t know where to start? Or, perhaps you are an aspiring fashion designer, who wants to get your ideas into fabric. If so, there is a place for you in the Amador Sewing Circle, bring your sewing machine, your ideas, and your skills to share with others.
 
There will be two meetings a month: A project night on the second Tuesday of each month from 6-8pm, and a forth Saturday afternoon workshop from 2-4pm . On project night, bring a project to work on and get feedback from others in the group. Saturday afternoon workshops will focus on a specific project and/or technique taught by a member. Topics for workshops will include garment construction, hand sewing, using and adjusting patterns, fitting, design and pattern making, choosing styles, colors and prints to flatter you, couture sewing techniques, embroidery and more.
