Amador County Arts Council works in collaboration and partnership with the local radio station, KVGC Hometown Radio. Through this partnership, staff have been trained to produce original radio content that highlights the arts and cultures of our Mother Lode community. Currently running shows can be heard live at 1340AM, 96.5FM, and on the live online player found at

If you are producing a podcast, make sure to register on our profile and add your broadcasts to our online calendar. This is a free resource for all local artists to use, so get in the directory HERE and add your events to the calendar HERE.

Mother Lode Mojo – Sundays at 12 noon and 8pm (right after the news) This weekly radio show began in mid-2019 and is an original compilation of local and touring musicians from throughout the greater Mother Lode region, most specifically music from Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, and Tuolumne counties in Northern California. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this show has become almost entirely local music since there are very few touring acts coming to our region as this point in time. Listen to past episodes HERE.

Fractured FairytalesSaturdays at 9am (right after the news) In partnership with Giles Turner and the Amador High School Drama Department, Amador County Arts Council works with local Amador High Theatre Students to produce their original radio plays that are written and directed by local Comedian and Playwright, Scott Coleman. While this program began as a result of the Spring 2020 school closures, we will sustain this program through the FALL and will include new original works and comedy of a variety of topics and styles. Past episodes will be available soon.

Arts Around Amador Archives – This radio show ran from November 2017 through March 2019 and worked to highlight the arts as essential to our community, with a strong focus on Arts Education Advocacy for local schools, teachers, and students. Arts Around Amador highlights local visual, music, theatre, dance, media, culinary, vinicultural, and industrial artists from throughout the greater Mother Lode Region. Episode archives are HERE.
