What is Poetry Out Loud?
Poetry Out Loud (POL) is a national competition and curriculum that teaches literature, public speaking, text analysis, and memorization skills. Open to ALL high school students in Amador County. In Amador County, the competition and free poetry workshops are administered by the Amador County Arts Council in partnership with the California Arts Council. Through Poetry Out Loud we help students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about literary history and contemporary life.
