2nd Grade Art Project

“Doodle Project”

The second grade project is designed around the art of doodling. Introducing the art element of line, 2nd grade students learn to doodle using repetitive designs and patterns. Various designs are first taught using pencil and are then gone over in artist quality fine line pens. Students do a directed drawing on their first piece and then are encouraged to explore the medium and design and execute their own concepts in a second piece.

Doodling has been reported by researchers to increase a person’s ability to retain verbal instructions and information. 2nd Grade teachers were amazed at how intense, and how QUIETLY their students worked on their doodles.
